Blackberry is where it all got started for me, so I take great pride in making this wonderfully sweet and tart jam. Not only that, but it's my family's favorite, so you know I have to make it just right!! So, how would we step it up a notch for the Artist Collection? Of course, we would get our talented son to come up with his own label featuring Pedro Point in Pacifica where the commercial kitchen we work out of is located.
Our delicious blackberry jam is a seeded jam for added texture that is great for just about anything. Whether it's an alternate choice for a PB&J over strawberry, a pork glaze, or in the case with the images we shot for this product, a silver dollar short stack with blackberry jam filling instead of slathering them with pancake syrup.
We start with only fresh picked berries that were hand selected and cleaned from either local growers at the farmers markets or from one of many local u-pick berry farms. Our recipe uses only fresh blackberries, pure cane sugar, a little citrus pectin for help with gelling and a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magical combination.
As a huge proponent for all arts, we couldn't help but start a conversation with local Bay Area artists that are producing amazing artwork. The Artist Collection is a special collectible series in conjunction with very talented artists that have picked their favorite flavor jam and designed their own label to showcase their artwork on a different medium. Although these flavors are the same as in our standard collection, 20% of purchase price of this collection of jams goes directly back to the artist in promoting their work.
