You asked for it, so we made it! Apple butter has been a constant request from our fans, both online and in person at craft fairs, so it was a matter of time before we presented one. To boot, we are very excited to be working with our newest grower in Watsonville that offers no less than 26 varieties of apples. Needless to say, our apple preserve offerings will definitely be on the rise this year...
We decided to go with a holiday spiced flavor that reminded me of apple pie due to the sweetener nature of the organic Fuji apples that our grower currently had available. Although this is a slightly sweetener departure on a traditional tart apple butter, we think you'll love the end result!!
We start with only fresh organic Fuji apples from Watsonville, CA that were hand selected by our new favorite apple growers, Peverdelli Farms. Our recipe uses only fuji apples, pure cane sugar, a bit of citrus pectin to aid the thickening process, ground cinnamon, nutmeg and clove for that holiday warmth along with a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magical combination.
