Figs are nature's candy. Although we were late to the jam party in making fig jams, we knew we had to see what all the excitement was behind all the requests, and we couldn't be happier that we did!
For this flavor combination, we wanted to put together a few of our favorite things, and we came up with a winner! Despite the alcohol cooking off in the process, we like to make sure to add enough bourbon to ensure it leaves its flavor behind. A nice twist on a standard fig jam that features the caramel tones of the Turkish figs and the bourbon along with a hint of vanilla that stays in your nose in a delectably spreadable texture.
Our delicious jam starts with Turkish figs paired with some bourbon. To the mix, we add pure cane sugar, a little citrus pectin for added gelling, some ground vanilla bean and a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magically intoxicating combination.
