One of my favorite parts of exhibiting in local craft fairs is the opportunity to talk with customers and listen to flavor combinations that they would be interested in. If I continually hear similar requests, then its a no-brainer to test out a new batch. Thanks to a customer request for a cherry infused with juniper berries suitable for appetizers, gamey meat glazes and hors d'oeuvres galore, Small Batch Jam Co is pleased to present our Cherry Juniper Jam.
Our delicious jam starts with bing cherry from Sonoma County paired with the piney flavor of dried juniper berries rounded out with some ground peppercorn that pairs great for just about any flavorful cheese or on duck, lamb or deer. The recipe uses only fresh bing cherries, pure cane sugar, fresh ground peppercorn, a little citrus pectin for added gelling and a generous splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice for a little zing to the flavor in this magical combination.
